Praying To Satan

Praying is an important part of many religions, this includes Satanism! Though it can definitely be helpful if you want to build your relationship with Satan, it is not required. There are other ways that you can bond with him if praying isn't your thing, though if you are feeling connected to Theistic Satanism I recommend trying it at least once.

My Experience

In my personal experience, it fills me with a feeling of warmth and love. It's a similar feeling (but not the same) to the one you get when you are with someone you really love and appreciate. I say that it's not the same because it feels more powerful...more "otherworldly". I'm honestly not quite sure how to describe it.

Depending on how much you "mean" it, it will feel different. If you just say the prayer because you feel like you have to, it will not feel nearly as fulfilling and it will definitely not build your relationship with Satan. On the other hand, if you do really feel it in your heart, it will feel how I described it in the previous paragraph.

How Should I Pray?

There's no one way that you should pray. It depends on the person. You can talk to him either out loud or in your head (I find it more powerful out loud). Talk to him however you are comfortable, but make sure to be respectful and acknowledge that he is a powerful and strong deity. I've noticed a lot of people (especially on TikTok) infantilizing their deities like they aren't the most powerful entities that exist. DO NOT DO THIS. It is not only disrespectful but not realistic, deities are not to be treated like children.

Now, back on topic. You can also find prayers online or in books, I put some of mine on this website. When you pray, you can either use prewritten ones (either your own or ones you find online) or you can come up with one on the spot. For me, I like to say a few prewritten prayers before I say one that I come up with at that moment. First I say an invocation to Satan so that I know he is present with me, I say my prewritten prayers, then finally I say what I want to say to him and thank him for being with me. You do not have to have a process that is similar to mine in any way, do what feels right to you.
